See You at the Library

August 16, 2025

See You at the Library to hold story hour at Library of Congress with Department of Education's Center for Faith

Families from coast to coast will gather in hundreds of libraries across the nation for a powerful celebration of imagination, inspiration, and timeless values. See You at the Library is a nationwide story hour event designed to awaken hearts, ignite wonder, and plant seeds of faith through stories that matter.

How It Started

In 2023, over 50 public libraries initially denied Kirk Cameron the opportunity to read his BRAVE book, As You Grow—a story centered on the Fruit of the Spirit. In response, Kirk stood firm, writing to these libraries and challenging what many saw as a clear disregard for free speech and religious freedom. After public pressure and thoughtful engagement, the libraries reversed course, and the story hours were allowed to move forward.

As Kirk traveled across the country hosting readings, some libraries worked to silence these pro-faith, pro-family events. The director of the American Library Association even circulated strategies to help local libraries block these values-driven gatherings.

But the effort to shut us out sparked something greater: the birth of See You at the Library—a grassroots movement where families across the country gather in their local libraries to read wholesome, character-building stories to their children.

This year, See You at the Library is back on August 16th—and it’s bigger than ever. One day. Thousands of families. A nation-changing moment.

Are you ready to take a stand for truth, imagination, and wonder?

Join the movement. Let’s shape the next generation—one story hour at a time.

How Can You Make a Difference?

This year, we’re inviting families across the country to join a growing movement—hosting story hours at their local libraries that nurture imagination, character, and truth.

Because this isn’t just about reading books. It’s about investing in the next generation—helping children grow in wisdom, kindness, and courage through the power of story.

With your help, we can spark a ripple effect of faith, hope, and lasting values.
